Sign the Petition -- Support a Living Wage for ND Workers
ND employees have no voice at work, labor for low wages, and have to work multiple jobs to support their families. Catholic Social Teaching upholds the rights of workers to organize, have livable wages, and dignified working conditions. Out of this mandate, the Campus Labor Action Project asks University of Notre Dame President John Jenkins the following:
Outsourcing jobs often leads to lower pay. While we gather statistics at our campus will you President Jenkins commit to a moratorium on outsourcing during your first year?
The Catholic Church is a leading voice for living wages for all workers. President Jenkins, will you publicly commit to the principle of a living wage?
To show your support for Catholic teachings on livable wages will you commit to work with students, workers, faculty, alumni, and community members to establish a living wage policy for Notre Dame this year?
Will you commit to meet personally with our coalition of students, faculty, workers, and community members this semester?
Petition
As an alum, staff, student, parent, spouse or other member of the ND family I stand with the Campus Labor Action Project urging Fr Jenkins to commit to working with students, faculty, workers, alumni, and community members for a ND Living Wage policy this year.
Please give us your contact information so we can stay in touch with you about this campaign.
